Irene Kinnear
Irene Kinnear joined the bowling club in 1982. That year the President was Mrs M Steel; Vice President was Mrs K Brunton. There were friendlies with Kinburn, Dysart, Cupar and Pittenweem at home and Buckhaven, Auchtermuchty, St Andrews, Duffus Park away.
1990 Irene won the Lundin Cup, Morag Cunningham Trophy (pairs) and the Pairs with Nancy Walker. She was in the Triples team that were runners up.

1991 when Nancy Walker was Ladies President, Irene was appointed Secretary and was named as a Skip. She was runner up of the Wardzala Tray.
1993 Irene was Vice President of the Ladies’ section.
1994 Irene won T. S. Stewart and Wardzala Tray, was runner up in Rink and Clunie Tray. Nancy Walker was Match Secretary.
1995 Irene was President of the Ladies Section, named as No1 Skip, won the Round Robin and was runner up in Triples.
1997 Irene was runner up in the Rink, Triples and Clunie.
1998 saw Irene take on Minute Secretary, win the Pairs, Triples, and Round Robin as well as runner up in the Clunie.
1999 now 70 Irene won the Round Robin again.
2000 It was the Pairs, Triples and Morag Cunningham that Irene won.2001 She won the rink.
2002 Irene was runner up in the Championship and Nominated Pairs.
2003 Irene was Champion! Also, the Morag Cunningham and Triples as well as runner up in the Balloted Pairs and the Rink.
2004 was the Clunie and runner up in the Rink.
2005 Irene won the Jubilee Handicap with a handicap of -3, Triples, Rink and Morag Cunningham as well as runner up in the Nominated Pairs.
2006 saw the integration of the ladies and gents in the club and Irene was once again Champion! She was the first Vice-Captain of the ladies (Liz Graham was the first Captain as she had been President that year) Nancy was match secretary. Irene also won Triples Rink and Clunie as well as runner up in Nominated Pairs.
2007 Irene was Champion for the third time. She won Mixed Pairs with David Gower beating her husband Jim and his partner Linda English. He though won the Millennium Singlehand beating Irene.
2008 Irene was runner up in the Championship to Joyce Peter but won the Clunie and Quaich.
2009 At 80 she won the Quaich again and runner up in Balloted Pairs and Mixed Singles.
2010 She won the Clunie and also Guthrie Quaich with Gordon Barclay defeating Dorothy and Jim.2011 Runner up in Wardzala.
2012 Irene won the Rink.
2013 She won Balloted Pairs and was runner up in Balloted Triples.
2014 Was runner up to Joyce in the Championship, won Balloted Pairs.
2015 Won Balloted Pairs with Pamela, was runner up in Nominated Pairs with Sandra.
2016 was runner up in the Morag Cunningham.
2017 Won Balloted Fours, runner up in Balloted Triples and Lundin Cup.
Irene also competed many times in the Scottish, East of Scotland and Fife competitions, getting to the semi-finals of the Scottish one year.
Irene has been and still is an inspiration to all around her, we are very happy to see her on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for a catch up with the lady members. We thank her for everything she has done for the ladies at Lundin Bowling Club.
